Building Insurer Reject Claim due to lack of evidence

A commercial building company owner advised us this week their £75k claim for a leaking roof and associated water damage had been rejected by their building insurance provider. The company, who had been with this insurance provider for 12 years,
fell foul to a clause of “effectively maintaining the property” as maintenance records, warrantees and other “reasonable” evidence were not adequate.

Here at RMS, as part of our account management, we dove tail support and offer clients a Planned Preventative Maintenance service to protect against this. We deliver these flexible budgeted services through an existing activity like gutter cleaning, gutter replacement or during a roof repair.

Additionally we reitorate that gutters, whether a liner or Unifold, require an annual inspection to achieve manufactures warrantees. Email us at sales@rms-roofing.co.uk to enquire about more details.

Reduce Utility Bills – Solar Panels have a triple impact on a businesses Bottom Line

21 years Roofing Professionals and Specialists, RMS have launched Solar Panels PV (Photovoltaic) service to their portfolio and their work with existing customers is showing extraordinary results.

Utility Bills are continuing to rise and show no sign of slowing, suddenly “looking green” and “being environmentally responsible” is more than cosmetic and the easiest and most straightforward solution is Solar Panels PV – generating your own electricity.

The impact on the bottom line is:
£ [1] Generating your own electricity to use, therefore less to purchase from the provider.
£ [2] Get PAID for generating it for 25 years guaranteed – the government through energy providers will guarantee to pay those generating their own electricity for 25 years.
£ [3] Environmental and Renewable Energy Projects add value to the properties they're installed into and are big PR to the businesses, plus a physical demonstration of a “responsible company”

Solar efficiency have enhanced significantly since their introduction, where panels now generate good power even at low light levels - making Solar PV a leading choice for renewable energy both for domestic and commercial use.

Although there's a MCS quality assurance scheme to ensure this new industry deliver, as the industry is new and in the current economic climate there's expected concerns about the life of new businesses.

“...we service a number of sectors and have attended numerous roof leaks from new Solar Panel installations. Speaking with customers, we all agreed PV would be a natural addition to our Green Roof solutions with our 21 year history to give that piece of mind to customers that their installers are going to be around for many years to come and reduce unnecessary roof repairs.”
- Will Intosh, Director of RMS.

RMS provide MCS accredited installations and to learn more or discover how much would impact your bottom line:

21 Years Strong...

Most remember their 21st birthday as its the notable point marking a coming of age - a fully fledged legal adult.

For RMS it too is a notable point, our 21st birthday is a mark of our teams who have continually worked hard and, under the leadership of Chris Watchorn, earned the reputation of “professionals and specialists in roofing”. However our anniversary is also a mark from our customers, a non verbal expression of the value and service quality we've delivered to them.

We'd like to thank all our customers and we hope our continual develop will mean we mature further like a good Wine with age, or for Chris our Managing Director - Whisky.

Our Quality is in TEAMS

Our practice of continual development for employees, as well as the business has seen them achieve a service team record of up to 16 years; testament to our Values (click).

Recently, Dean, Terry, Rob and Gary completed an NVQ level 2 in Sheeting & Cladding, which entailed an examiner inspecting the quality of work on site over a 3 month period -
this NVQ formalised their experience into a qualification.

In addition, RMS is pleased to announce the employment of Lewis Mc Combie to our service team.

“We're a close, friendly team at RMS and investing in our team is the surest method to continue high service delivery and meet customer expectations. I'm pleased they did themselves justice in the NVQ and to welcome Lewis to the team.” Chris Watchorn, Managing Director of RMS.

RMS …improving efficiencies…

Over the past 6 months RMS has been modernising systems & practices to enhance the services and experience for their customers as well as for their future.

This modernisation includes developing e-commerce solutions through utilising their website, “cloud” platforms, bespoke service and e-procurement solutions to ensure RMS are prepared and ready for client and customer future service expectations.

Having already received CHAS and SAFEContractor accreditations, RMS has achieved the Constructionline Supplier status which is a Public Private Partnership between the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills & Capita.

Each of these accreditations are U.K recognised standards and pre-qualifying vetting sources for contractors & consultants. “...We pre-qualify all of our suppliers to government standards, and maintain relationships … to ensure that we remain relevant to procurement professionals within the construction industry.” remark Constructionline; visit www.constructionline.co.uk

“We are focused to being the preferred provider in roofing solutions and our efforts to increase the service, standards and experience for our clients and customers, should set ourselves at the front of our industry.” said Chris Watchorn, Director of RMS Ltd.

RMS: community & charity...

As a responsible business we are regularly active in community & sponsorships, however the 10k-everyday running challenge for Cancer Research UK is one of the most inspiring events we have got involved with.

We have a friendly close culture at RMS priding ourselves on 'going the extra mile' & this challenge has captured the hearts & minds of our teams and embodies the real meaning of going & doing that extra mile.

All at RMS wish Tim Good Luck, with this enormous challenge.

Help share the idea & find out more on the challenge at www.10keveryday.wordpress.com
