Building Insurer Reject Claim due to lack of evidence

A commercial building company owner advised us this week their £75k claim for a leaking roof and associated water damage had been rejected by their building insurance provider. The company, who had been with this insurance provider for 12 years,
fell foul to a clause of “effectively maintaining the property” as maintenance records, warrantees and other “reasonable” evidence were not adequate.

Here at RMS, as part of our account management, we dove tail support and offer clients a Planned Preventative Maintenance service to protect against this. We deliver these flexible budgeted services through an existing activity like gutter cleaning, gutter replacement or during a roof repair.

Additionally we reitorate that gutters, whether a liner or Unifold, require an annual inspection to achieve manufactures warrantees. Email us at sales@rms-roofing.co.uk to enquire about more details.
